Originally from Toronto, Kristen has been dancing for 31 years.
She spent eight of those years training at the National Ballet
School of Canada and two summers doing additional training with the Royal
Danish Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet Schools.
Upon graduation, Kristen entered the National Ballet of Canada where she danced
for four years performing in such classics as Swan Lake, Giselle, Sleeping
Beauty and Cinderella.
During her final year in Toronto, she had the opportunity to travel across
Canada performing in the Karen Kain Farewell Tour.
Seeking a new challenge, Kristen left the National Ballet to join
the Alberta Ballet as one of their leading dancers.
For three years, Kristen performed extensively in Europe, China, Egypt, Mexico,
Canada and the USA.
Having had a taste of the contemporary vein of
dance, Kristen accepted a job with Ballet British Columbia in July of 2001 where she danced for 2 years.

After a 9 year career of international performance, Kristen transitioned to
teaching dance, which she still enjoys 11 years later. Having earned her
teacher's certification from the Imperial Society of Teachers in Dance, Kristen
served as the Artistic Director and Principal of RNB Dance and Theatre Arts in
North Vancouver from 2006-2008.
Kristen currently resides in Guelph, Ontario where she has most recently launched “Monarch Movement”, Guelph’s newest youth dance program for pre-school and school-aged children. In addition, she continues to teach competitive level dancers at four local studios. Kristen’s award-winning choreography will be featured once again at more than a dozen Dance Competitions in Canada and the U.S. In recent months she has also found herself back on stage performing as a freelance artist with Toronto’s Contemporary Dance Company “Hit & Run Productions”. Kristen is looking forward to traveling back to North Vancouver in both March and July this year, to work with and inspire the students of Camp Monarch.
